We provide a free 9-12 hour training to low-income job-seekers and others with barriers in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, delivered on-site at partner organizations and educational institutions. Job Summary

We are looking for an engaging and passionate instructor to deliver the Samaschool curriculum to trainees at our partner sites across the Bay Area on a part-time basis. Samaschool works with a variety of community-based organizations throughout the Bay Area and we are looking for a dynamic instructor who can engage and support a diverse population of low-income adult learners to secure independent work. Our training schedule is irregular, and the number of training hours required from this instructor will likely vary week-to-week between 0 and 12.

Responsibilities and Duties

 

  • Effectively deliver the Samaschool curriculum to a variety of trainee groups across the San Francisco Bay Area. This will include leading engaging and interactive activities and creating shared experiences in a cohort setting.
  • Provide individualized support, coaching, and assistance to trainees.
  • Prepare for sessions, including logistics management (e.g., testing technology before each class).
  • Maintain and monitor accurate records of student progress and document student outcomes.
  • Document and share best practices and lessons learned in the classroom.

 

Qualifications and Skills (Required)

 

  • Experience teaching or coaching diverse low-income populations, preferably in the Bay Area.
  • An energetic, motivating, and inclusive teaching style.
  • Comfort with and enthusiasm for using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive and other collaborative online tools.
  • Comfort working independently, remotely, and on a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel to training sites across the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. 

 

Qualifications and Skills (Desired)

  • Experience teaching job training, work readiness, technology or vocational skills.
  • Experience working independently (i.e. as a consultant or freelancer) in any capacity.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
