Tech Lead Front-end Engineer (Multi-Positions)

We are building new front-end teams globally. We are looking for multiple tech-savvy front-end developers with different levels of expertise who are fast-learners and team players to join us remotely or locally and help us bring our smart data annotation platform to the next level. What you do as a Front-end Tech Lead Developer 

Like any developers in the team, you contribute to the code base of the product. You spend some time on technical coaching of the development team. 

You also will work with the Architect to build the Architectural and Engineering roadmaps. 

As a Tech Lead, you spend some time with the product managers to finalize the product roadmap and detail the epics and stories.

You lead the development team to t-shirt size the scope and break them to smaller and manageable pieces of work.


Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
  • 2+ years of tech lead experience in software development
  • 2+ years of practical knowledge of single page applications (SPA) using Angular framework
  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript
  • Knowledge of the best practices and style of at least one of the front-end frameworks
  • Experience with centralized state management (E.g. NgRx)
  • Good knowledge of HTML 5, and CSS 3
  • Practical experience with front-end test frameworks (E.g. Jasmine)
  • Experience with a continuous development and delivery model
  • Experience working with REST APIs
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum
  • Comfortable working with a distributed team


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of WebGL and Three.js
  • Knowledge about Web Components
  • Familiarity with Secure Software Development practices (SSDL)
  • Basic experience with back-end development


What does a Front-end developer mean at Sama?

As a Front-end developer, you will join a global team of sharp and agile developers to build an enterprise solution to annotate 2D/3D images and videos to train Al/ML learning algorithms. 


On a sprint basis, you will work on the backlog/bugs of the active sprint; you will participate in the design, coding, code review, and testing of any story. Depending on the scope of the story, you may work directly with UX designers, Architect, Product Managers, or developers on other teams, eg, ML/AI, Data, or Backend.


You use the latest modern front-end technologies such as Angular or React along the newest web standards of HTML and CSS incorporated with some of the most modern graphical JavaScript libraries like WebGL and Three.js to build the smartest annotation platform.


You’ll get the opportunity to either contribute to developing a feature or lead the development of a feature with the rest of the team from A to Z. This is a unique opportunity as you bring a feature from almost zero to deploying it on the production.
